Strategic Corporate Assessment

  • Moderate sessions with key internal stakeholders to assess individual and organizational experiences, interests and fears relative to supporting this segment of the employee population.
  • A comprehensive review of internal and external communications.
  • Conduct interviews with employees who either have a disability or a dependent with special needs.
  • Deliver a findings/recommendations document outlining the organization’s greatest areas of opportunity and/or risk as well as a prioritization for strategy and implementation of recommendations.

Recruiting and Training

  • Provide guidance on how and where to best recruit individuals with disabilities, including those colleges and universities that best serve students with disabilities.
  • Provide review, guidance and development of recruiting collateral, diversity brochures and web sites as they relate to hiring people with disabilities.
  • Train all levels and functions within an organization on Disability Etiquette & Awareness, The American with Disabilities Act/Amendment Act, Accommodations and more*.

Organizational Readiness and Accessibility

  • Provide comprehensive ADA/ADAAA phone support and research through a dedicated hotline service.
  • Assess current On-Boarding processes.
  • Guide the development of a Reasonable Accommodation Committee.
  • Guide the development of a Centralized Accommodation Funding Program.
  • Develop strategy for the inclusion of people with disabilities as part of an Emergency Preparedness plan.
  • Conduct Physical Barrier Assessments.

Employee Benefits and Benefit Guidance

  • Provide assistance with benefit disclosures to protect the company against future liability.
  • Provide employee and employer guidance on Health Insurance Problem Solving with regard to therapy, durable medical equipment and other services most requested by these employees of their group plans.

Resource and Referral

  • Develop a nationwide dedicated section of the company’s intranet site that provides 24/7, self-serve information on topics ranging from important terms to know, special needs schools and camps, government benefits, legal, financial and educational issues, support groups, advocacy agencies, vocational rehabilitation services and much more.
  • Produce a regularly scheduled employee newsletter – either “Hot Topics” or “Disability in the News”.
  • Deliver a variety of “Lunch & Learns” that include such topics as planning for the future, navigating the education system, college planning, work-life balance and more.

Work-Life and Support

  • Develop strategy, grow and/or manage disability related Employee Resource/Business/Affinity Groups.
  • Develop Mentor Programs for employees with disabilities and employees who have dependents with special needs.
  • Develop national, regional and local strategic alliances with special needs non-profit organizations.

Internal Communications & Event Production

  • Develop communication collateral that encourages employees with disabilities and their families to positively experience an organization’s offerings.
  • Provide direction on the appropriate positioning and look and feel of existing internal communications materials.
  • Produce on-site corporate events for celebrations such as National Disability Awareness Month, The International Day of the Disabled and more. Provide speakers, a disability resource fair and more.
  • Offer Nadine Vogel as a motivational and informational keynote presenter with book signing of her top selling business and “must read” book, DIVE IN.
